Although we don’t spend a lot of time in our bathrooms, a nice bathroom is somewhat implicit in our happiness. At least for us, showering and bathing in – what we feel to be – a modern bathroom, feels great. However, it can cost more than £5000 for a bathroom refurbishment. That's not money most of us have lying around. Instead, we need to find cheaper ways of transforming our bathrooms on a budget. Here are a few of our ideas:
1. Change the things that you can change: sometimes you can transform the bathroom just by changing a few things. For example, if you have bathroom cabinets, you can swap them for a contemporary style, or a style that fits with your home. Alternatively, you can remove the tiles and retile the bathroom. There are plenty of things like this that you can do, and they’re relatively cheap.
2. Buy a new radiator. Changing the radiator, or installing one if you don’t already have one, can massively change the feel of the bathroom. There are hundreds of different styles of radiators for sale. They also come in a massive range of budgets. Furthermore, there’s always a sale going on somewhere. If you shop around, you'll be able to find radiators for sale for as little as £80, and even at that price, they’re still good quality.
3. Repaint. One of the best things that you can do to transform the room is to repaint it. A lick of white paint on the ceiling and a nice colour on the walls (although you could tile the walls instead, because that looks great too) and it will feel like a brand new bathroom. It’s relatively cheap to repaint the average bathroom. It should cost no more than £100, which compared to £5000 for an entirely new bathroom, is actually a right bargain.
